We have all confronted anxiety periodically. It becomes a concern when the occurrences are frequent and may be accompanied by feelings of fear. The symptoms of anxiety disorder can come in many guises. At times, an incident in your life might trigger an anxiety attack. At other times, the feelings will just appear without warning and for reasons you can't explain. We'll be discussing some general anxiety symptoms in this report.

One of the most common symptoms of anxiety is fatigue or feeling tired much of the time. Insomnia, of course, will make matters worse. When your body doesn't get enough sleep each night, you become even more listless and have less energy. Still, if someone suffers from anxiety they can get a lot of sleep each night and still feel fatigued the next day. The fact is, worrying puts a lot of strain on your body and nervous system, which can cause fatigue. When you find that you are tired all the time, go to your physician or health clinic for a check up. If no physical or medical reason is discovered, you can pretty much assume that you have an anxiety disorder. To the extent you can learn how to relax and stop the worry scenarios from repeating over and over in your mind, your energy should start to come back.

Possibly the symptom that anxiety sufferers have most often is the inability to stop thinking and worrying about their problems. Perhaps they're actual problems, but they could also be imaginary. If your mind searches for problems or potential ways that things can go wrong, there will be an endless number of these. When you are anxious, your mind with its overactive imagination can come up with more things for you to worry about than you can imagine. The situations do not even have to be realistic or even probable. A person with anxiety may worry about getting on a plane, going to a business meeting, paying their bills or any other topic. It's important to remember that concentrating on problems, real or imagined, doesn't improve your ability to overcome them - just the opposite, in fact.

Basically, you will not want to attend any social gatherings at all which can be detrimental to your career and social life. If you suffer from social anxiety, your doctor may prescribe certain medications and recommend cognitive therapy to help you.

There are such a variety of symptoms of anxiety that we've only been able to address a small number of them in this article. Do you worry a lot about problems and situations that you can't really do anything about? Then you are probably suffering from anxiety disorder. Learn techniques you can employ to handle anxiety situations when they crop up. You can study different ways to do this yourself or seek the help of a doctor. Don't just think it will pass because, in reality, anxiety will worsen if ignored.
