<div class='uawarticle'>Dermal fillers helps replace the amount inside your face that's lost as we age. These are typically injected directly into the wrinkles and lines on your face to plump them up and provide a much more youthful look. There are several types of fillers available:<br />

Hyaluronic acid (Juvederm Perlane). Hyaluronic acid is a sugar seen in our skin that forms part of the matrix holding skin cells together. It is also an element in collagen. These products attract water like a sponge, filling and plumping the tissue.<br />

Microspheres (Artefill). These tiny, round plastic particles contain bovine (cow) collagen. They're primarily useful for the deep folds of skin in between the nose and mouth in order to replace facial volume lost as we grow old. They are not approved for use on the lips, and the body doesn't absorb them.<br />
<br />
Calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse). It dissolves from a a moment is absorbed by your body. It's injected in the form of a gel to fill wrinkles between the nose and mouth and to provide more definition to thinning parts of the face.<br />

Poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra). This product is thought to stimulate your own tissue to generate more collagen. Although it is synthetic, it's absorbed by your body and has no effect on your body's defence mechanism. It's utilized for years in orthopedic surgery. It may take weeks, however, before you see significant results.<br />

Who's it befitting for? People who want to complete wrinkles on your face and folds. Dermal fillers may be used in other places which include hands and lips at the physician's discretion. How can it be done? The filler is injected to your face, sometimes throughout the skin, sometimes beneath the skin's layers. It's going to take under one hour.<br />

What is the pain factor? Some pain and swelling initially. Most fillers now contain lidocaine to reduce injection pain. How long will it last? Depends upon the type of filler used and where it is injected. Most last 6 to 9 months, however, many may last as much as a year. Who will do it? Most effectively achieved with a trained cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist.<br />

Risks and warnings: Acid hyaluronic is a natural substance inside our bodies, and these fillers don't require allergic testing. For dermal fillers crafted from animal products though, you may need a skin test to ascertain if you're allergic. Other potential risks include bruising, swelling, lumpiness, infection, redness and inflammation. In rare cases, skin itself may die if the filler blocks a blood transport. It's also advisable to inform your doctor if you take aspirin or other blood thinners, as you may should stop taking them before the procedure to reduce the risk of bleeding and bruising.<br />
