Advice to Eliminate Shyness

Shyness is an extremely devastating problem. It makes people unhappy, makes it difficult to become a successful person and decreases satisfaction with life in general. If you want to have the best life you can possibly get, you need to overcome shyness and become a confident person. How can you do that? Here are three tips to get rid of shyness:

1. Go past the anxiety

First you have to learn to act in spite of your anxiety. To do that, you have to put yourself in situations that make you feel nervous and remain in these situations (no matter how difficult it is) until the feeling of anxiety is no longer that uncomfortable. Practicing this on a regular basis will force your brain to act in spite of uncomfortable situations instead of escaping them (which will only make you feel even more insecure).

It's very important so I need to write about that again - it will be extremely difficult to deal with your insecurities head on. However, if you seriously would like to overcome shyness, you need to man up.

2. Stop feeling inferior

You aren't shy in all situations and with all people. Are you insecure when you're talking to a 5 year old kid? Probably not - and the reason is that you treat him as inferior to you (she's only a kid). Now consider talking to a pretty woman. Now it's completely different because you think that this girl is more valuable than you are. As you can see, if you don't accept yourself and don't increase your self-esteem, you will always feel insecure around people who you think are superior to you.

Kill this mentality. Don't think about people in terms of being superior or inferior to you. We are all equal.

3. Meet with the right people

Lastly, people who support you are a must. Meet as frequently as you can with super confident people who can teach you (even if only by observing them) how to be a confident person. You won't become a confident person by playing computer games with all the nerds from the school. You have to leave your house and find something more substantial to do.

And that's how to get over shyness. As you can see, dealing with shyness is simple but it isn't a piece of cake. Once you put into use these three tips, you will considerably improve your self-confidence. Just keep in mind that it requires a lot of practice and a lot of determination to eliminate your shyness once and for all. So make sure to focus on this area of your life and don't give up until you succeed. Take action now!
