Small business marketing takes many forms. You can reach out to your customers with direct mail, email, social media, and even mobile marketing. Despite the abundance of choice, something is missing.

Our companies are missing some spark, some personality. The human element that differentiated us from our competitors has been lost. We're hiding behind our computer screens and it could be damaging business. Your customers want to see the face behind the business. And believe it or not, this is much easier than it sounds.

What is Live Event Marketing?

Experiential or event marketing is a great way to reach out to your customers on a personal level. It gives your customers the opportunity to try out your products for themselves. You get to engage with your customers, and secure sales you may have lost online.

There are a whole host of locations where you can market in this way. Everything from a national exhibition to a local street market holds different possibilities for your business.

Is there really a better way to promote your latest product? You can engage on a personal level with your customers, and let them see for themselves why they need to buy from you. It is easier than you may think to experience trade show success, even if you've never exhibited before.

Three Tips For Event Success

Firstly, you want to make sure you have a great exhibition stand. You want to make sure you grab peoples' attention, and encourage them to visit your stand. Once they're at your stand, your products need to do the talking. Make sure visitors to your stand have the chance to try-before-they-buy. Give them the chance to get in the frame of mind to buy.

Secondly, you need to make visitors to you stand stay a little while longer. If they're not buying right away, you want time to convince them too. If they have brought a product, you'll want to hold their attention just a while longer. Good old fashioned refreshments and freebies are great ways to hold your visitor's attention. Try and cross sell where possible, or at least get people to sign up to your mailing lists.

A third tip is to be aware of how you're selling. Hard sells can put people off pretty quickly, whereas going in to soft might still loose you the sale. Make sure you give customers ample time to test out products before swooping in with your sales pitch. Time your marketing pitch perfectly by taking the time to assess their body language.

It is Right for Me?

Live event marketing is a great method of offline promotion for any business. No matter whether you sell a unique service or product, integrating this method into your current campaign is a wise idea. There really is no easier way to show the human face behind your company.
