It's a wise decision to add pest control to your spring cleaning routine to aid prevent pest problems later that year. This is why spring is an ideal time to get started on preventive pest control. Here are a few key things to remember while integrating bug control into your cleaning to-do list:

1. Tidy in the yard.

A fantastic strategy is to begin from the outside of your dwelling and come inward. Pests generally prefer to make nests in dark, moist spots, so it's a good idea to eliminate as numerous of these places as possible. Oftentimes, prime pest nesting areas come in your yard.

Insects like yard debris such as dead plants, ripened fruits, weeds, and fallen branches, so make an effort to leave only a small amount of these around as possible. Trim overgrown bushes, shrubs, and excess foliage to get rid of potential homes for pests.

Additionally, containers that can hold standing water are great places for insects including mosquitoes to put eggs. Eliminate as much sources of standing water as is possible.

2. Get rid of storage spaces and also other rarely disturbed areas.

Pests can hide in boxes along with other containers you've tucked away in your closet or attic. Cleaning these areas will remove their potential hiding places. Sweep, dust and mop these spaces once you have cleared them out.

Take some motivation? Look at this: cockroaches can live off bits of dust and dirt left around in your house. They are thrilled to hang out in dusty storage areas.

As long as you're at it, you can even want to clean your box springs and mattresses to stop bed bug infestations.

3. Tidy up leftover food.

Another thing that summer and spring pests love is leftovers. It goes beyond last night's leftovers left on the counter or perhaps the kitchen table. To some pest, even small bits of food which have fallen into nooks and crannies are attractive snacks. Some prime instances of this are crumbs that have fallen into upholstered or carpeted areas. Exist crumbs lurking inside your couch? Think about sugar sources glistening within your pantry? They are tasty treats for pests.

To starve pests at home, vacuum all furniture, and wipe down all jars within the pantry. (Jams and jellies are especially common pest attractors, as their drippings are abundant in sugar.) Additionally, you'll want to be sure to clean beneath the stove and sink, as items of food often find yourself there. Vacuum and clean these areas thoroughly, plus your pet's bowls and feeding areas.
