You may think trade show exhibits are simple, but for those who have to put them together, it is a difficult job. So many mistake you might end up making. Avoid those common problems with some simple tips to ensure a great next tradeshow exhibit.

Do Some Strategic Planning

- Do not mix marketing with exhibiting. The two are completely different, even though they work hand in hand. With specific goals in mind, you need a clear exhibit plan. You shouldn't confuse overall marketing plan with this strategy.

- Don't get into problems. Your company may have attended the same trade show for years, but that doesn't mean you have to this year. Take a good look at how well that particular trade show has worked for you in the past. Did it generate leads? Were people able to attend your booth? In case it is not working well, set up your exhibit this year in a new location.

- Use advertising and promo items to spread the word. A few lanyards with your company's logo and the time and date of the trade show can do wonders to increase attendance and ensure they are excited about coming to see you.

Avoid These Exhibit Design Mistakes

- You don't have to go for a super-sized exhibit. If you are new to the trade show game it may not be a good idea. A smaller exhibit to begin with would be much more suitable. You can then tailor your exhibit to fit each trade show and attract the attention of potential customers you meet. Might seem like trial and error but its the right way.

- View displays and graphics. Remember that a potential client will only spend an average of three or four seconds looking at your exhibit before they decide whether to walk away or learn more. Graphics and displays should be eye-catching to draw the clients in.

- Keep your area as clean as possible. You might notice dust accumulating on your displays. Dust should be kept away by sweeping your area properly. This will ensure your clients don't sneeze every time they pick up on your lanyards or promotional pens and give your booth a dignified and professional look throughout the show.

Staffing Mistakes to Avoid

- Don't wing it when it comes to staffing. You need professional and trained individuals to monitor and care for your booth. Prepare them well.

- There is no need to be shy. Introduce yourself to potential clients. It is possible to capture their attention. Use this opportunity to introduce yourself to competitors' too. No problem with being friendly with competitors.
