However, when you do it right, direct mail can bring a huge amount of profitability to your business. Of course, if you don't know what you're doing, your direct mail won't help you get anywhere. Be prepared for the follow up before you send out your direct mail. You can do this with a second piece of direct mail but it is better to use email or a phone call. This is a great way to really stand out among the competition for your prospects time and attention. Of course, this is only practical when you're sending smaller batches of direct mail out. Of course that doesn't change the fact that it really makes a positive impression. A quick phone call to say "I sent you something about a week ago, and I want to make sure you saw it." It's little things like this that convert someone thinking about doing business with you into a paying customer.<br />

Direct mail is not dead by any stretch of the imagination. Ignore anyone who tries to tell you otherwise. Many people have just forgotten how effective it can be for business. Direct mail is a highly profitable technique to use for boosting your business that still delivers and impressive return on investment.<br />
