They are going to work harder to obtain the results you need when they know and understand everything that is taking place. You'll also help people feel as if they are making a difference by ensuring they are fully informed of what is happening all the time. When people know they are truly having an impact and they matter, they're going to put in a lot more effort to make certain the common goal is realized or even surpassed.<br />

By being a good example, your staff members will want to be like you but you can't expect people to do things you aren't capable or prepared to take care of yourself. When you're ready to do anything to achieve results, work hard and are reliable, your team will do the same. Nonetheless, if you keep everything to yourself, show up at work at noon at leave two hours later, you're going to demoralize your team and they will lose all interest in achieving the results you are hoping for. The expectations you set for yourself are vital as the more demanding you are with yourself, the more people will want to be just like you. Do keep in mind, you need to be an inspiration to your team, which means being reliable, open and fair.<br />

The matter of discipline can be debatable because there are many who feel only positive motivation should be applied to the workplace. While it's true that you'll get more through the power of positive motivation, you still need to be willing to discipline your team members. This doesn't mean you should bully people but at the same time if somebody repeatedly makes the same mistake and you discover it's because of negligence, for instance, then you have to discipline that person quickly and effectively. However, don't dwell on it and be sure to offer rewards when their performance meets or exceeds your expectations.<br />

To efficiently motivate the people on your team, you should understand what pushes them. It'll be a lot easier for you to motivate your staff members and make sure they do well if you know and understand them. The aforementioned suggestions are an effective point to start but keep in mind that not everything will work. The key to easy motivation is to really get to know the people on your team.<br />
