Women And Work

by Celine Nguyen

Although male and female do various work in just about every nation, the pattern isn't always the same. Partly, it depends on how rich and developed a nation has become. As a country gets richer and people use more machinery to produce things, women stay at home to avoid taking positions in factories or in big farms. A number of women find it hard to obtain jobs especially when the office decoration that their environment have is not suitable for women.

Most women possess office positions, as secretaries, typists, clerks or bookkeepers. Many stores also hire women to advertise different products like home equipment, outfits and vehicles. Some factories that hire women carry on light industry, such as canning food or packaging drugs. Up until now, very few women work in iron and steel industries. The architecture and design of the office must appropriate the capabilities of its personnel.

Among the professions that require a college or university education, teaching and health provide most opportunities for women. Generally, however, in these areas women possess the less important or lower positions. An example would be, women nurses are plentiful, while women doctors or hospital administrators are rare. Many more women teach in elementary schools than in colleges and fewer women are school principals than men.

This is not always the case, in some cases, women are the initiators, leaders and executives of different businesses. They have high positions in the government and in their respective companies. Women also hold more patience and they persevere more when compared to men. In addition, in some instances, firms prefer employing women because they are more disciplined when in contrast to most men.

How we look at it really is dependent on what nation we are on. Sometimes, the country that we are at is still discriminating women, sometimes it defends women, and some countries are still pursuing equal rights of men and women. Different races view this topic differently. It just is dependent on how a person looks at it.
