Google bought Adwords in the early 2000s, and to date has become the most used and successful pay per click ad platform. Copywriting as applied to advertising is one of the strongest and most useful skills any individual entrepreneur could have. Given below are 3 simple tips that will help you write better ad copy for your AdWords campaigns.

Adwords ad copy is much like classified ads, and you need to talk in specifics. It's possible that some people want to save time, due to laziness, and think they can get away with using some kind of template; well, avoid that because it won't work well. Your ads have a target audience, obviously, and so each ad must address them. Hence the reason to always avoid ad copy formulas that are too generic and templates, etc. As an example, you're promoting your shirt business, and of course there all kinds of shirts: short sleeve, long sleeve, formal, informal, button, pull-overs, etc. You cannot use generic type ads because each ad group is for specific and different keyword phrases. But how do you really achieve this in the best possible way? You should have multiple ad groups for these keyword sets so that you know what kind of copy needs to be written for each ad group. Besides that, when you have specific ad copies written, the kind of response you generate from your campaign will automatically increase.

You must always distinguish yourself from your competitors. Avoid the false promise of hope by believing that it's as easy as plagiarizing other PPC ads. Copying ads tells us that you're lazy and uncreative, and also that maybe we're not interested to do business with you. Howeve, what we do always recommend is that you just learn from other PPC ads, and you can even get ideas for your own. If you want to try it out, then that's fine and you can just test it. It's a bit amusing because you can read a lot of ads and see that one was closely copied from another one. Consider that the reader may become confused if they see what looks like multiple ads. Unique ads perform better, but no matter what you can always do your own testing.

Remember that your ad's formatting is necessary to create the right ad. But it's easy because the ad is very short; so no misspellings of any kind, grammar mistakes, etc. This is one of those things that never has to happen because it's so easy to prevent. It's rare to see mistakes in ads on the first page because those advertisers know what they're doing - usually. You can split test ads as much as you want, and you should, but never screw around in the ad copy. The way you capture attention is with the headline, and that is all the headline is for. The headline and body copy all work as one and must create a great impression on the reader. Remember to capitalize the first letter of each word in the headline because it converts better.

All in all, writing a profit pulling ad copy for your AdWords campaign takes consistent effort and practice. It's not hard at all do write great classified ads (PPC) ads, and you will discover that if you don't give up.
