Follows is an independent review of LabActive.

LabActive is on the MLM scene, but maybe not particularly that new in the slightest. Up to this point, we still do not know much about them, and their pre launch website is small help. But here's what we do know.

The company is branding themselves as a health and wellness company, which is "developing premium products designed to fuel your active lifestyle".

At the time of this writing, they're offering two products:

efusjon, a healthy energy drink, which was the flagship product of a very controversial now-defunct network marketing company from 2009.

And R1, a meal replacement shake.

Energy drinks and weight loss shakes are definitely not new for the social marketing industry, so I would not foretell that the products will have much to do with the succeeding or failing of this new venture.

It'll likely all be about attempting to build on the history of the original efusjon organization, and their short but always engaging existence.

Management

Rob Towles, CEO, was the instigator of efusjon. Towles had a background as a distributor in internet marketing prior to starting that company.

Frank W. Borst, President. Borst has a lengthy resume of executive management and consulting. Any previous ties to network marketing are not known.

The (Obvious) Gameplan

With the exception of the protein shake addition, the new company seems to simply be a reincarnation of the old.

A pre-launch offering was e-mailed last week to approximately 70,000 previous distributors, selling $950 memberships from 3,800 folks. This would total a startup infusion of $3.61 million to sell the top spots in the matrix.

The network structure is a "community overlap matrix", that allows a distributor 3 spots on his first row, then 7, 15, 31 and so on. The attracting feature of this comp plan is it's "overlap" feature, where you share in the matrices of your "neighbors" in the matrix.

While confusing to demonstrate, the bottom line is that the comp plan creates an opportunity to get something for nothing... Always a powerful incentive in any M.L.M operation, and without doubt a main element in the explosive expansion that was seen using this very same comp plan previously.

Further, there aren't any ranks and no sponsoring needs, which is a difference from the original plan, whereby a member was forced to have 3 active, personally enrolled distributors to receive earnings. LabActive announced the removal of this obligation. We have to wonder about removing all prerequisites for enrolling, as it is the core of any internet promotion company. Time will tell whether it proves to be a profitable feature.

Though the pay plan structure is known, the payouts, in actual dollars and/or percentages, has still to be revealed.

The Future

Will it succeed? Or will it fail like version 1?

One thing is correct. People love an exciting do-nothing-and-get-rich plan, even though they are once bitten. We will have to see if LabActive makes it, but I predict plenty will try it again.
