The Aquarian Gospel was published in 1911 by a man named Levi H. Dowling. He is said to have transcribed 'the Book of God's Remembrance'. The Book is also known as the Akashic Records. They are said to be written on subatomic-sized, disc-like plates. Through meditation and fasting, those who are capable of tuning in to their frequencies is able to witness every event that has ever occurred.

Dowling's book is believed to seamlessly document the birth, childhood, ministry, death and resurrection of Christ. What makes these writings stand out from the Bible is their assertion that Jesus went to Persia, Greece, Egypt, Assyria and India. There are two decades of Jesus' life that are not mentioned in the Bible.

Interesting discrepancies exist between Levi's account and those of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. For example, in Chapter 33, Verse 9, Levi asserts that God did not create heaven or hell, and that these are created by each of us during our existence on Earth. He is allegedly quoting Jesus Christ, Himself.

There are some familiar stories. In Chapter 124, Jesus feeds the 5,000 with five loaves and two fishes, with 12 baskets left over. Here, he walks on water, as does the disciple, Peter, until he loses faith and gets wet. As in the Bible, Peter is rescued by Jesus.

The story ends on ground that is familiar to students of the Bible, in Jerusalem. In John 14, Verse 26, Jesus speaks of a Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom God will send to help us remember Him and His teachings. According to Dowling, however, Chapter 162, verses 35 to 37 refer to this Helper as 'she'. The female Comforter is mentioned again in the following chapter of Dowling's writing.

In all five Gospels, the events leading to Jesus' death and resurrection are roughly the same. Judas betrays, Jesus, Peter denies Him, Pilate fobs him off on Caiphas, who orders the Crucifixion. Jesus dies, leaving an empty tomb. He reappears to say goodbye to His followers in Greece, Rome, Egypt, etc., and the Christian Church is born.
