<div class='uawarticle'>The greatest benefit of becoming a superb leader is that people do things for you because they wish to do things for you. Ex US President Dwight D. Eisenhower summed up this benefit sharply when he said: "Leadership is the art of getting somebody else to do something that you want done because he wants to do it."<br />

There is a frequently expressed misconception that leaders are born and can't be made. Whist it's correct that many leaders are folks who have outstanding personality, self confidence and sense of direction, it is also right that all of these are learned talents. Such talents, when they appear to be totally natural are the result of the environment in which the perpetrator of the abilities has been brought up and the way that the individual has reacted to that environment. The important point here is that the individual learned the talents, they're not the results of genetic structure.<br />

A very good method of learning to be an impressive leader is to model yourself on the ways, beliefs and thinking of a remarkable leader. But you can learn the same abilities by studying books and going on good leadership development courses. Being a good leader means that you develop the self-discipline to behave in a consistent way both with yourself and with those around you. One point that causes potential leaders to lose credibility with colleagues and team members is a scarcity of consistency in their behavior.<br />

If you'd like to be an excellent leader you have got to have a deep-seated need to be an impressive leader for excellent reasons. There need to be clear benefits for you in being a leader. So , before you consider turning into a leader think about what being a leader will do for you.<br />
