In order to be effective in trade shows your trade show display should convey to potential customers what your company is all about and what it can do to help your targeted customers. When your company is going to participate in a trade show, your budget will limit your decision whether to have a customized display or a rental display booth. A small business or a startup company may not yet have enough budget to have a customized display built for them and therefore may end up deciding to rent a booth. Fortunately almost all major cities have excellent display booths for rent that these companies can use during trade shows.

Renting a display booth during a trade show has these advantages:

* Save transport cost

* Save booth storage costs, drayage and shipping costs

* Use innovative displays at different shows as you can hire different exhibits each time

* Exhibit rentals are affordable and unique.

* Great options for first time show participants

* Save on labor

* Takes away the stress of packing, unpacking and setting up exhibits

For small companies wishing to rent our display booths, rental companies already have all the necessary display types that they will need during the trade show. The renting company only needs to bring the necessary literature such as brochures, pamphlets and posters that they need to display during the show.

Display rental companies not only provide the equipment and facilities for displaying your company's information, they even offer to print out tarpaulins and posters to your specifications and designs. This is why more and more companies who participate in trade shows choose to rent their display booths from rental companies rather than investing money in having a display booth built exclusively for them. When joining a trade show, your company's trade show display must contain all the necessary information about your company, what your company does and your company's goals. It should also be creative enough to catch the eye of potential customers and be non-intimidating so that customers will be at ease when visiting your booths. If a customer comes to your booth but is still confused about what your company is all about, then you failed to make your display effective.

When a customer gets confused about the message that your display is trying to convey, then he or she will rather walk away and visit another display booth than ask you to clarify what your display message means. When this happens, your competitors will be able to get the potential customer that you lost because of your display. The main purpose why a company joins a trade show is to be able to assess the current situation of the industry that the company belongs to. This will involve assessing the competitors and the latest trends in the industry. One major reason of joining trade shows is for the company to be able to showcase what their company is all about and what products and services they are providing. If the display is clear then the company will be able to attract more qualified customers. To ensure that your company's message is effectively communicated, make sure that the message wording and the graphics used are carefully constructed.

Many companies participate in trade shows in order to assess the current situation in the industry that they belong to. These companies will display their wares or give an overview to the services that they are offering. Visitors who attend these trade exhibits are composed basically of two types of people. The first type is the serious customers who came to the exhibit to compare prices of products and services so that they could get the best deal possible. The second type is the person who has spare time to kill and would like to look around the exhibits. It is possible for companies to convert this second type of visitor into a potential customer through the effective use of their displays. If the display is too cluttered or uncoordinated then it loses its appeal and a curious onlooker will just pass the booth by.

Too much information and too much graphical elements may cause a person to become overwhelmed and therefore lose interest and walk on. How information is displayed is vital. Lengthy paragraphs will tend to bore visitors. Information should be concise and written in bold and brilliant images to catch and retain the attention of the potential customers. Likewise, any printed literature must also contain concise writing with fonts that are large enough to be read clearly. Company information such as contact details should be displayed prominently both in the displays and on printed literature such as pamphlets and brochures.

When you are going to include printed literature about your company in your display, make sure that you have sharp and high resolution graphics. Also make sure that the theme of your display is integrated with your website and brochures so that customers will associate them with your company.

This is better than trying to be over innovative and using different looks in the various marketing mediums you use. You do not need to make a dozen or more points to create an effective exhibit. Instead concentrate on a few points and communicate them well. This is enough to capture, engage and retain the attention of a customer.
