For a lot of years I suffered with a lack of self confidence. Feelings of "not being worthy", "not belonging" and a poor self image held me back in my career and in my relationships.

These emotions were really tough to manage because I had no clue that I was a victim of any particular disability. It simply never occurred to me that there was anything wrong. I was simply living the way that I had got used to being. I didn't think I had not always suffered from a shortage of self confidence. All I knew was that in certain situations I felt uncomfortable and not able to cope.

It took me years to learn what the difficulty was. But when I did find out I learned how to to overcome my challenges with self esteem. Now I train others in the techniques that I used to become a self confident person. I teach in the United States, the England the Gulf and now I am going to be running Self Confidence Training in India this summer.

The most important lesson from my private experience of battling with self-confidence issues is that no-one has to suffer the pain of self-confidence issues. There are ways that you can become confident. I'm the living proof that any person can become confident. I spend a great deal of my life trying to find better methods to train others to overcome issues of low self esteem and poor self image.

In my experience NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) is one of the most effective sets of tools for enabling people to become even more confident. I always use a lot of NLP in my 2-day workshops and it has a highly beneficial effect on the delegates being trained.

A primary reason why it took me so long to triumph over my confidence issues was because I simply was not prepared to pay the price for the cure. My studies of ways to cure myself were sporadic. I didn't read enough and I did not attend the right workshops. You will not cure yourself of confidence issues, you must have help - that was the largest lesson that I learned. When I got help the cure came swiftly.
