<div class='uawarticle'>One of the hardest things about starting a blog is how simple it seems. Blogs look like super easy ways to make money and while they can be great sources of revenue, certain things need to be done correctly to get that revenue rolling in. This isn't something that every newbie blogger is going to recognize. There are so many basic things that most new bloggers overlook. It's possible it is because they are simply anxious to get a jump start on things. Maybe it's because they didn't take the time to learn about what they should be doing. Whatever your reasons, here are a few of the things you need to be sure you get right when you are starting out.<br />

Social media - this is something you need to understand. Many people have found success in blogging by using certain social media venues. You may have several clients or colleagues that communicate with you in this way. It is possible this could also be a waste of time. It is possible that you will waste all of your time networking, and never build a single blog because all of your time will be gone. The best way to go about this is to set up a designated time each day to do your social networking, only concentrating on the people that really matter. So instead of wasting your time on social media networks, and wondering where the time has gone, you will have a specific schedule to follow instead.<br />

Every person who starts a new blog becomes obsessed with his or her statistics. Looking at your numbers can be incredibly addictive. It's easy to get to get caught up in how many people are visiting your site, where they are visiting from and how long they're sticking around. Still, this really is not the best way to spend your time. Each and every minute that you spend looking at your statistics is time that you should be spending on more important projects for your blog. It is much better to check out your stats once a week or (better) once per month.<br />

Don't get worn down. Nobody can reach fame through blogging overnight. No matter what you might have been promised, it isn't possible to post a blog on night one and have millions of dollars in your bank account by night two. No matter which website you have, this is still true. Not doing anything at all is never going to earn you a million dollars. The idea that such a thing is possible is just a lie that was made up by the people who want you to give them your money. It's important that you be ready to do real work regularly. Patience is a virtue. Persistence is key. Even if you start to get bored, keep going. It is your hard work, in the end, that will make your blog successful and get it to pay off.<br />

Your success online with your blog is only limited by what you can learn and how you implement that knowledge. You certainly need to do more than set up your free blog, post using a template that everyone else does, and expect to make money around-the-clock. There are also a lot of mistakes to avoid. This is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Just keep learning and you will succeed!<br />
