There is obviously are reason why you should consider holding a party in time with Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. It is during such occasion that you can invite friends and relatives to your home. To make your Hanukkah party really enjoyable though, you should try the suggestions below.

Before anything else, the one thing that you should first be concerned with is the preparation of the venue. It is necessary that the place is decorated, with heavy emphasis on the holiday's traditional themes, which means that you may have to use the colors blue and white. Even the flowers that may be found on the center tables should be blue and white.

Food is always a huge part of any celebration, and Hanukkah is no exception. Obviously, you will want to have some delicious latkes and you can serve them up with sour cream, smoked salmon, caviar and applesauce on the side and let guests pile on their favorite accompaniments. You can serve the latkes along with brisket or baked chicken. For dessert, consider the traditional sufganiot, the deep-fried doughnut that is sure to conjure up many happy memories of Hanukkah's past.

The mere fact that the Hanukkah is also the Festival of Lights should tell you that you also need use LED novelty products, especially those with themes related to Judaism, as part of the decors. Even the cups that you use for the drinks may have LED light-up products with a Star of David design. The giveaways that you pass to the guests when they leave the party may also have LED lights too.

Since this is a time of celebration, it is a great idea to have some games for people to play. Of course, you should definitely consider setting up a table where both young and old can enjoy the dreidel game. Provide plenty of chocolate Hanukkah gelt for this game. In addition to the dreidel game, consider setting out puzzles and Hanukkah crafts for the little ones to enjoy while the adults socialize.

There is no doubt that that the most anticipated moment of the party is when the Hanukkah candle is lit while a prayer is said and the hymn, Ma'oz Tzur, is sung. To make the younger children enjoy their time, it would be good if you could find someone who could relate to them the story of the Hanukkah.
