Facebook Ads Are All About You

Facebook is clearly one of the biggest social media outlets on the Internet today. When it began, it was much simpler and had many less users as well as less features. It was essentially just a wall you could write on and pictures. You had to be a student to get an account and the Facebook ads were much more broad and for everyone that went on the site.

Facebook ads have changed a lot over the years. In the past, they did not have specific ads that were personalized for you. Now, they take what you talk about the most or who you are connected to and send you ads that have the same qualities. This makes for a more personalized ads experience.

It is a little odd to think that Facebook is taking what you talk about and sending you ads that are directly related to them. It seems like they are almost recording everything you talk about which means that it is most likely on a record somewhere. That is slightly unnerving, but not a huge deal.

But, you have to think about how much better these Facebook ads work over just putting any ads up and hoping that they work out. I personally went to Penn State University, so my ads always have something to do with Penn State football or buying Penn State clothing. That is more useful to me than some of the ads that used to pop up such as home decor websites and things like that.

Even with this system, there are still some flaws with it. You do not always get appropriate ads even if you are fairly consistent with how you post and what you like. I still do not get ads that make any sense to my particular situation. I am fairly certain I have never talked about my undying love for all that is salad, and yet somehow I still get a salad delivery ad on a consistent basis.
