The common experience for all markets, just about, is to have a small cadre of well known people who tend to command attention of the market. Sometimes approaching these people with an offer in exchange for their help can push your idea into the viral status. Seth Godin, the popular marketer and author calls these influencers "sneezers", since they are known to spread a viral idea much more easily and infect the rest of the market. Yet it is hard to predict how the entire market will respond to these things. Sometimes someone else can put a bug in the person's ear, and that will start the whole thing going.<br />

You viral campaign will most likely not do well if you arrive at the conclusion that you need to intervene on the behalf of the viral campaign. That is the peculiar thing about this because if it has the power to be viral, then it will cause it all by itself. You can see people trying to force it by adding conditions to something, and that will never make something truly viral. The fact that something is some kind of force means that it is not strong enough to make people do it. So you can hopefully see for yourself that these manual types of things only represent a waste of time for you.<br />
