As somebody who educates positive methods to people, you can guess what my opinion is. My belief is that determining to be positive can make a huge difference - in individual relationships, home life, job and mostly with ourselves.

Recently I attempted to check if this was just an unverified belief that we Pollyanna kinds think or if there was study to aid my quest for more positivity in our world.

I began with the seminars I attend for my business. I've been blessed to study with a few of the very best and brightest success mentors and motivational speakers in the world and they are good advocates of knowingly selecting a positive attitude.

After a number of days with them as well as other like-minded attendees, we leave believing pretty much anything is possible - work, relationships, happiness, abundance. Undoubtedly it's not easy to maintain that kind of enthusiasm when we get back into the flow of regular life with all its troubles and worries, cranky relatives, and parade of disasters in the news, however it seems easier with that increased positive outlook.

I do know that a lot of people are searching for solutions to be more positive. Take a look at latest Alex and Ani bracelets which most people are sporting and you'll observe that they state "our products are infused with optimistic energy technology". Get on Pinterest.com and see all the optimistic and motivational signs individuals (me included) have pinned up on their boards. It seems we are seeking an even better way.

Here's the great news. I've found that there is certainly study to back up why being optimistic matters. According to Jean Chatzky's book "The Difference", those who are optimistic are more resilient, can deal with stress much better, are better problem solvers, can think much more clearly, and have more energy.

Not too harmful to just opting to look at the bright side. And people who are much more resilient have a better capability to overcome the innate negativity we humans seem to have.
