Unfortunately, as important as customer service is, it's something too many internet marketers leave out of the equation when they think about their business. The internet may seem vast and impersonal, but people who shop online still value customer service as much as customers do anywhere else! Let's look at some ways that internet marketers can improve their customer service skills.<br />

Email your current customers to see what suggestions they have for improvement. The most important thing is to let them know you really do care about their opinion, but that you may not be able to act on every suggestion given. The feedback you receive may be very interesting. You never know, this could even remind a few people that they were going to buy something from you! Your email, though not actually soliciting sales, may add to your bottom line.<br />

Make sure that your web pages and sales pages and e-mails are all well written. Don't let typos, spelling errors or grammatical mistakes happen. In the world of internet marketing, your website is what makes your first impression. If you want people to trust you and try your products, you don't want them to have to be bothered with typos or sloppily written sales pages. If you aren't very good or experienced at writing, find someone who can do it for you! It's not hard to find people to do writing or editing for you.<br />

From time to time, it's a good idea to give your customers something they don't have to pay for. Do not only send tired sales pitches to the people on your sales list, also send newsletters and useful information to keep them interested. If you gain a reputation for only trying to sell to them, your e-mails are more likely to be deleted without being opened. If you show a willingness to give them value for nothing in return, they will start receiving your emails more willingly, though. You can also please your following by sending them updates on what other projects you know of that people are doing. This will demonstrate to your customers that you care about the niche you are in as much as yourself, and they will be happy to see this.<br />

Internet marketers can always work to make their customer service practices better. You have to get past the myth that customer service is something only traditional businesses have to worry about. If you want your business to grow and succeed, you must focus on customer service. People like to be treated with respect. That is all customer service is: providing the buyer with a convenient, enjoyable and respectful experience with your products or services. It isn't as hard as it sounds!<br />
